The Central Jaguars lost to the Florala Wildcats back in December of 2019, but the Central Jaguars didn't allow the Florala Wildcats the same satisfaction on Friday. Central enjoyed a cozy 61-42 victory over Florala. Given Central's advantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 99th in Florida, while Florala is ranked 289th in Alabama), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Central can attribute much of their success to Hatcher Sasha, who scored 19 points. Another player making a difference was Lakin Mathews, who scored 10 points along with 5 rebounds.
The victory makes it two in a row for Central and bumps their season record up to 5-1. As for Florala, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-5.
Central's road trip will continue as they head out to face South Walton at 4:00 p.m. on December 9th. As for Florala, they will square off against Straughn at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
