LaFayette has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will take on the Dadeville Tigers at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 51-6, which was the final score in LaFayette's tilt against Trinity Presbyterian on Thursday. While losing is never fun, LaFayette can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 412th, while Trinity Presbyterian is ranked 112th).
Meanwhile, Dadeville's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their tenth straight loss dating back to last season. They were dealt a 51-13 loss at the hands of Beauregard. Dadeville has struggled against Beauregard recently, as their contest on Monday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
LaFayette's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Dadeville, they bumped their record down to 0-3 with that loss, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season.
LaFayette didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Dadeville in their previous meeting back in December of 2022, but they still walked away with a 49-45 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for LaFayette since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
