The Cedar Grove Saints waltzed into their matchup on Monday with four straight wins but they left with five. They strolled past Tri-Cities with points to spare, taking the game 49-35.
Cedar Grove found their leader in underclassman Emmanuel Green, who scored 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Nathaniel Loyd, who scored eight points.
Cedar Grove pushed their record up to 13-5 with that win, which was their sixth straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.7 points per game. As for Tri-Cities, their defeat ended a ten-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 10-6.
Cedar Grove will be playing in front of their home fans against Sandy Creek at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Tri-Cities won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Banneker at 7:30 p.m. on January 16th. Banneker will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Georgia Rankings (they are ranked 280th, while Tri-Cities is ranked 58th).
