The Buckeye Hawks scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They put the hurt on Glendale with a sharp 94-72 win. Winning may never get old, but Buckeye sure is getting used to it with their eighth in a row.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Buckeye to victory, but perhaps none more so than Isaiah Leyva, who scored 23 points along with four steals. Leyva has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. Darius Haskin was another key contributor, scoring 27 points along with five steals.
Despite the loss, Glendale still got an impressive performance from Keme Jones, who dropped a double-double on 46 points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Jones has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Anthony Duran, who scored 22 points along with six assists.
Buckeye's victory was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-10. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.5 points per game. As for Glendale, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-13.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Buckeye will take on Copper Canyon at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Averaging 67.7 points so far this season, Buckeye's high-powered offense has been in full-swing lately, so Copper Canyon better be ready for a challenge. As for Glendale, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Youngker at 7:00 p.m. Glendale is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 52.2 points per game this season.
