Basketball Recap: Olympus Gets the Win

It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Olympus ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They escaped with a win against the Viewmont Vikings by the margin of a single free throw, 48-47. The win continues a trend for the Titans in their matchups with the Vikings: they've now won three in a row.

Olympus' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Ava Blair, who posted 13 points in addition to seven boards and three steals. Blair has been hot recently, having posted three or more steals the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Cammie Bontempo, who dropped a double-double with 11 points and 14 rebounds.

Viewmont's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kailey Selleneit, who earned 13 points and seven steals. Peyton Burningham was another key player, putting up six points along with six boards and three steals.

Olympus' record now sits at 16-3. As for Viewmont, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 12 of their last 13 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-16 record this season.
