Even though the Silo Rebels scored an imposing 66 points on Friday, the Wewoka Tigers still came out on top. Wewoka secured a 71-66 W over Silo. With that win, Wewoka brought their scoring average up to 54 points per game.
Wewoka's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Sherman Mitchell, who scored 24 points. That makes it two consecutive games in which Mitchell has scored at least 25% of Wewoka's points. The team also got some help courtesy of King Thompkins, who scored 18 points.
The victory got Wewoka back to even at 1-1. As for Silo, they now have a losing record at 1-2.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wewoka will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against ASTEC Charter at 7:30 p.m. on December 5th. As for Silo, they will challenge Comanche at 12:15 p.m. on Thursday.
