It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Melbourne Bulldogs can now relate to. Their tough 61-35 loss to the Hawks on Monday might stick with them for a while. Melbourne has not had much luck with Viera recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.
Despite the loss, Melbourne still got an impressive performance from Addyson Turba, who scored seven points along with 11 rebounds and three steals. Cecelia Nardone was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Viera to victory, but perhaps none more so than Scarlet Ackley, who scored ten points along with eight rebounds and five assists. Ackley also posted two blocks for the first time this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Lauren Bell, who almost dropped a double-double on 15 points and nine rebounds.
Melbourne has traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last nine games, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-17 record this season. As for Viera, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-13.
Melbourne does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Viera, they will take on Martin County at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Viera focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Monday.
