Basketball Recap: Tahqulin Brooks' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Borger over Seymour

Borger saw some tournament action on Thursday. They fell 65-53 to the Seymour Panthers. Even though they lost, the Bulldogs' still made a splash on offense and bumped their average scoring up to 50.2 points per game (they're now ranked -1th in scoring overall).

Several Bulldogs players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Tahqulin Brooks, who went 6 for 7 on his way to 16 points in addition to seven boards and three blocks. Brooks is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 16 or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Braylon Contreras, who almost dropped a double-double on 14 points and nine boards.

Borger's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Seymour, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 11-0.

Borger didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 73-42 loss against Childress on the 12th. As for Seymour, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 55-42 win against Vernon on the 12th.
