The Leroy Bears and the McIntosh Demons squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but sadly the Leroy Bears had to settle for second. They lost to the Demons on the road by a decisive 58-42 margin. Leroy has not had much luck with McIntosh recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
When it comes to explaining why Leroy lost, one person who can't be blamed is Malik Howell. Despite the final result, he scored 14 points along with two steals. Howell continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Ray Phillips, who scored eight points along with four steals and two blocks.
Leroy's loss dropped their record down to 7-10. As for McIntosh, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 23-4.
Leroy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for McIntosh, they will look to defend their home court on Saturday against Brantley at 6:00 p.m. McIntosh is coming into the match with six straight wins at home, meaning Brantley will have to defend against a team hungry for a win.
