The Capuchino Mustangs posted their biggest victory since December 6, 2023 on Friday. They put the hurt on Oceana with a sharp 61-36 win. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Capuchino also won the last time the pair played back in November of 2021.
Capuchino's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Isaiah Cruz led the charge by scoring 16 points along with nine rebounds and five steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Dermott Philpott, who scored 16 points.
Capuchino has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a massive bump to their 8-9 record this season. As for Oceana, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-3.
Capuchino will be staying on the road on Wednesday to face off against Mills at 6:00 p.m. on January 17th. Mills has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 15. As for Oceana, they will be playing at home against Terra Nova at 1:15 p.m. on Monday.
