Sheridan Hills Christian took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They blew past Parkridge Christian 3-0.
Sheridan Hills Christian not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Parkridge Christian between 14 and 17 points across their sets. The final score came out to 25-17, 25-14, 25-15.
Sheridan Hills Christian found their leader in sophomore Sophia Broch, who had 28 digs and two aces.
Cushman extended their winning streak to four games thanks to a huge performance from Martina Mouawad. The Cougars came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against Somerset College Prepartory Academy South for which the team can thank Mouawad, who had 11 digs and two aces. She has been hot, having posted ten or more digs the last seven times she's played.
Cushman wouldn't go down easily and took Somerset College Prepartory Academy South into a fifth set where they got it done with a two-point win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 19-25, 12-25, 25-18, 17-15.
Sheridan Hills Christian's victory bumped their record up to 15-5. As for Cushman, their win bumped their record up to 15-10.
Sheridan Hills Christian came out on top in a nail-biter against Cushman when the teams last played two weeks ago, sneaking past 3-2. Will the Sharks repeat their success, or do the Cougars have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
