It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Alhambra Bulldogs can now relate to. They took a hard 34-17 fall against Miramonte on Friday. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Alhambra in their matchups with Miramonte: they've now lost eight in a row.
When it comes to explaining why Alhambra lost, one person who can't be blamed is Beau Blau. Despite the final result, he rushed for 65 yards and two touchdowns. Blau has been hot recently, having posted two or more rushing touchdowns the last three times he's played.
Leading Miramonte to victory were Jack Quinnild and Carson Blair. Quinnild picked up 98 receiving yards and three touchdowns, while Blair threw for 206 yards and four touchdowns on only 14 passes.
Alhambra has not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-4 record this season. As for Miramonte, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-3.
Alhambra does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Miramonte will take on St. Bernard's at 7:00 p.m. on November 25th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in California (St. Bernard's is ranked 279th, while Miramonte is ranked 284th).
