The Piney Woods Tornadoes had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 58-42 win over Stringer. This was payback for Piney Woods, who suffered a 46-34 loss the last time these two teams met.
Leading Piney Woods to victory were Jeovani Kazadi and Kingston Little. Kazadi scored 14 points, while Little scored 16 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Little has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Murangira Lincoln, who scored six points.
Piney Woods' victory ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-5. As for Stringer, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-17.
Piney Woods will head out on the road to take on Mount Olive at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Stringer, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Leake County at 7:30 p.m.
