The Emmanuel Christian Warriors had to endure a six-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They came out on top against Altha by a score of 38-29 on Thursday. The win was just what Emmanuel Christian needed coming off of a 55-7 loss in their prior match.
Leading Emmanuel Christian to victory were Jaiden Coleman and Rileigh McDonald. Coleman dropped a double-double on 13 points and 17 rebounds, while McDonald dropped a double-double on 15 points and 10 rebounds. That makes it five consecutive games in which Coleman has scored at least 25% of Emmanuel Christian's points.
Emmanuel Christian pushed their record up to 1-6 with that victory, which was their third straight at home. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 8.3 points per game. As for Altha, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-3.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Emmanuel Christian will play host again and welcome Pike Liberal Arts, where tip off is scheduled for 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Pike Liberal Arts comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 15 points in their last three games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse. As for Altha, they will be playing at home against Maclay at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
