The Atlantic Eagles had already proven themselves in the regular season, and didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They walked away with a 54-45 victory over West Boca Raton on Monday. Given Atlantic's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 114th, while West Boca Raton is ranked 386th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Elanie Sullard, who scored 19 points along with seven rebounds and five blocks. She is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 19 or more in the last three games she's played. Keaira Todd was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Atlantic is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season. As for West Boca Raton, they are on a ten-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-18.
Atlantic will square off against Seminole Ridge at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Seminole Ridge knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past five contests -- so hopefully Atlantic likes a good challenge. West Boca Raton does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
