Basketball Recap: Eldred Skates Past Tuxedo with Ease

Eldred entered their tilt with Tuxedo on Friday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They blew past the Tuxedo Tornadoes, posting a 64-27 win. The Yellowjackets' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Eldred's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Trai Kaufmann led the charge by going 6 for 13 on his way to 19 points in addition to six rebounds and five steals. With that strong performance, Kaufmann is now averaging an impressive 15.4 points per game. The team also got some help courtesy of James Deyermond, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 13 rebounds.

Eldred's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-1. As for Tuxedo, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Eldred will welcome Chester at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Tuxedo, they will square off against Chapel Field Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Tuxedo is facing Chapel Field Christian at the right time seeing as Chapel Field Christian is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
