Forreston has gone 8-1 against Lena-Winslow recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Cardinals will head out to square off against the Panthers at 4:30 p.m. Forreston is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last ten games.
Last Saturday, Forreston earned a 12-8 victory over East Dubuque.
Connor Politsch made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-4.

In other batting news, Alec Schoonhoven was incredible, going 2-for-5 with one home run and four RBI. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Daniel Koehl, who scored a run while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.
Forreston hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in three consecutive games.
Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Lena-Winslow duked it out with River Ridge/Scales Mound on Monday. The Panthers were the clear victors by an 11-3 margin over the Wildcats. Considering the Panthers have won five contests by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Lena-Winslow got a massive performance out of Aiden Wild, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-3. Landon Grindey was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases and two RBI.
Lena-Winslow has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-3-1 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.4 runs on average over those games. As for Forreston, they pushed their record up to 14-2 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road.
Tuesday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Forreston hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .316. However, it's not like Lena-Winslow struggles in that department as they've averaged .331. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Forreston's way against Lena-Winslow in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, as Forreston made off with a 10-4 win. Do the Cardinals have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Panthers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
