The Western Reserve Roughriders had to hit the road for their first game and sadly it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They took a 61-49 hit to the loss column at the hands of Vermilion on Friday.
Vermilion can attribute much of their success to Wyatt German, who scored 15 points along with 6 assists and 6 steals. The team also got some help courtesy of AJ Gerber, who scored 13 points along with 5 rebounds.
Western Reserve's loss dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Vermilion, their win bumped their record up to 1-0.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Western Reserve will take on St. Peter's at 7:15 p.m. on Saturday. Vermilion will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Clyde at 7:30 p.m. on December 12th.
