The Waccamaw Warriors came into Wednesday's contest having lost five straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They strolled past Academic Magnet with points to spare on Wednesday, taking the game 52-38. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Waccamaw also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2020.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Waccamaw to victory, but perhaps none more so than Sutton Cooper, who scored 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Nate Kettels, who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds and two blocks.
Waccamaw's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-16. As for Academic Magnet, they are on a 21-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-22.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Waccamaw will challenge the Blue Jackets at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Academic Magnet, they will head out on the road to face off against the Gators at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Lake Marion is on a three-game streak of home losses, the Raptors an eight-game streak of away losses (dating back to last season), but someone's luck is about to change.
