Baseball Recap: Canyon View Now 9-2 over Last 11 Games

Canyon View has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging 3.72 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Friday. Everything went their way against the Thurston Colts as Canyon View made off with a 16-10 victory. The Jaguars might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine matchups by six runs or more this season.

The team relied heavily on Ethan Santoyo, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with six RBI and one run. Those six RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Eli McBryde, who scored a run while going 3-for-4.

Canyon View always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .625. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive contests.

Canyon View has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.2 runs over those games. Thurston's loss ended a 13-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 4-2.

Coming up, Canyon View is taking a road trip to challenge Notre Dame Prep at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Thurston, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against West Albany at 5:00 p.m.
