After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Tonasket, the Curlew Cougars were happy to have found some success on Saturday. They came out on top against Oroville by a score of 58-48. For Curlew, this counts as revenge for the 46-32 defeat Oroville walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2021.
Leading Curlew to victory were Logan Thompson and Luke Doyen. Thompson dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 rebounds, while Doyen scored 27 points. That makes it two consecutive games in which Thompson has scored at least 25% of Curlew's points. Evan Olson was another key contributor, scoring 9 points.
The win got Curlew back to even at 1-1. As for Oroville, their loss dropped their record down to 0-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Curlew will face off against Columbia at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Oroville, they will head out on the road to face off against Entiat at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
