The Munroe Bobcats will challenge the Jefferson County Tigers at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Munroe is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.4 runs per game this season.
Munroe came out on top against FAMU DRS on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive eight-run first inning. The Bobcats put the hurt on the Rattlers with a sharp 11-4 win. The Bobcats haven't had any issues with the Rattlers recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.
Jayden Wright-Deweese was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out seven over four innings pitched. He also tossed no walks, which is notable because Munroe is 2-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 5-14 otherwise. Wright-Deweese was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Adan Sweet, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two doubles, and two RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Munroe's success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is undefeated (and 4-15 when he doesn't). Jon Gay was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.
Meanwhile, Jefferson County might've scored the first runs on Wednesday, but it was Rickards who claimed the real prize. The Tigers came up short against the Raiders, falling 14-4. The Tigers haven't had much luck with the Raiders recently, as the team has come up short the last nine times they've met.
Jefferson County saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Marcos Vargas, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base.
Munroe's win bumped their record up to 7-15. As for Jefferson County, their loss dropped their record down to 6-20.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Munroe has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.1 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Jefferson County struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 8 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Munroe skirted past Jefferson County 4-2 when the teams last played last Friday. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bobcats since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
