The Riverside Rams's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their sixth straight loss dating back to last season. They were dealt a 47-20 loss at the hands of Peekskill. Riverside was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Peekskill apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January.
Peekskill found their leader in underclassman Amari Murphy, who scored 19 points along with three steals. That makes it seven consecutive games in which Murphy has scored at least 25% of Peekskill's points. Another player making a difference was Azarriyah Ashley, who scored 12 points along with eight rebounds and five blocks.
Riverside's defeat was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-1. As for Peekskill, their win bumped their record up to 5-3.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Riverside will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on The Leffell School at 4:45 p.m. on January 8, 2024. Peekskill will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Sleepy Hollow/Irvington at 6:30 p.m. on January 5, 2024.
