On Thursday, the Chariho Chargers faced the West Warwick Wizards in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Chariho was the clear victor by a 60-39 margin over West Warwick. Winning may never get old, but Chariho sure is getting used to it with their fourth in a row.
Chariho got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Emily Ballard out in front who scored 12 points along with nine rebounds and two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Jules White, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds and four steals.
Chariho's win was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-1. As for West Warwick, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-4.
Chariho will head out on the road to face off against Prout at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Prout will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Rhode Island Rankings (they are ranked 35th, while Chariho is ranked fifth). As for West Warwick, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Cumberland at 6:45 p.m. on Monday.
