Pioneer Valley League recap October 1, 2013
Bear River scaled the state rankings by moving to 256 from 326 this week, the biggest jump in Pioneer Valley League. The Bruins climbed the ranks as a result of besting River Valley 36-12.
Lincoln took down Mesa Verde 54-20 last week, the largest margin of any game. Dane Stimbert ran for 167 yards in the win.
The Fighting Zebras' offense was unstoppable this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Josh Pisik threw for 105 yards and Terance Bolden had 50 yards receiving. On the ground Stimbert contributed 167 yards.
Lincoln's dynamic duo of Pisik and Bolden proved to be unstoppable against the Mavericks, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week.
Stimbert provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Ken Lowe's team beat Mesa Verde. Stimbert's favorite target this week was Bolden, who caught 3 passes for 50 yards.
Leading the league in both passing and receiving yards, Colfax's Michael Wilson and Chas Reisinger have proven to be a lethal combination. Wilson has thrown for 1,099 yards this season, while Reisinger, a 5-foot-11 receiver, has 22 catches for 401 yards. Stimbert from the Fighting Zebras leads the league in rushing with 657 yards.
Bear River made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 3,162 from 4,213. The improvement was largely due to a 36-12 victory over the Falcons last week.
