After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Rootstown, the Badger Braves were happy to have found some success on Thursday. They took down Maplewood 61-43. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Badger also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2023.
Badger got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Gabriella Miller out in front who scored 17 points along with four steals. Miller continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Brianna Huscroft was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with six steals.
Badger's victory was their 17th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-2. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 29.65 points. As for Maplewood, their loss dropped their record down to 9-5.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Badger won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Windham at 5:30 p.m. on January 19th. Windham will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings (they are ranked 594th, while Badger is ranked 265th). As for Maplewood, they will head out on the road to face off against Brookfield at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Brookfield is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.
