After having lost a blowout in their previous game against North Johnston, the Franklin Academy Patriots were happy to have found some success on Friday. They blew past Raleigh Charter 63-39. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory Franklin Academy has posted since November 28, 2023.
Hayes Lewis continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 26 points and 12 rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Franklin Academy's points. Micah Rutledge was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 14 points and 12 rebounds.
Franklin Academy is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-8 record this season. As for Raleigh Charter, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-10.
Franklin Academy will head out on the road to challenge NCSSM: Durham at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully NCSSM: Durham focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 20 last Tuesday. As for Raleigh Charter, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Research Triangle at 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
