Basketball Game Preview: Tindley Tigers vs. 21st Century Charter Cougars

Tindley is a perfect 4-0 against 21st Century Charter since December of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Saturday. The Tigers will head out to face off against the Cougars at 12:00 p.m. Tindley is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 55.2 points per game this season.

Tindley is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Indianapolis Crispus Attucks just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Tuesday. They lost 70-50 to Indianapolis Crispus Attucks. The defensive woes were uncharacteristic for Tindley, who until this contest were averaging 22.11 points allowed.

Despite their loss, Tindley saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Shantel Shockley, who posted 11 points and three steals, was perhaps the best of all. Shockley is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least three every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Amyah Taylor, who had 12 points.

Meanwhile, 21st Century Charter played a tough matchup on Thursday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were outmatched by Calumet New Tech and fell 55-1. The Cougars were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-1.

Tindley's defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 7-2. As for 21st Century Charter, their loss dropped their record down to 0-6.

Everything came up roses for Tindley against 21st Century Charter when the teams last played back in January of 2019, as the team secured a 64-33 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Tigers since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
