Winning is just a little bit easier when you work as a team to rack up seven more assists than your opponent, a fact the Central Cambria Red Devils proved on Wednesday. They walked away with a 53-40 victory over Bedford. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Central Cambria.
Central Cambria was led to victory by Connor Serenko and Grady Snyder. Serenko almost dropped a double-double on 11 points and nine rebounds, while Snyder scored 23 points. It was the first time this season that Serenko pulled down eight or more rebounds. Another player making a difference was Brayden Swope, who scored ten points.
Bedford's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Cole Taylor, who scored eight points along with five rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of AJ Koontz, who scored six points along with nine rebounds.
The win got Central Cambria back to even at 8-8. As for Bedford, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-15.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Central Cambria will take on the Golden Tigers at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Hollidaysburg presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Red Devils in Pennsylvania (the Golden Tigers are ranked 142nd, while the Red Devils are ranked 298th). As for Bedford, they will be playing at home against the Raiders at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
