Ridgeview Global Studies Academy can attribute much of their success to Mehiel Charles, who scored 12 points.
Orlando Science's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Myles Gipson, who scored eight points along with five assists and three steals. Another player making a difference was Christian Harris, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds.
Ridgeview Global Studies Academy's victory ended a 12-game drought at home and bumped them up to 1-8. As for Orlando Science, their loss was their sixth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 4-10.
Ridgeview Global Studies Academy will play host again and welcome Vanguard, where tip off is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Florida (Vanguard is ranked 748th, while Ridgeview Global Studies Academy is ranked 770th). Orlando Science will be staying on the road on Monday to face off against Crooms Academy at 7:00 p.m. on January 22nd. Hopefully Crooms Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 on Friday.
