Saint Joseph's Catholic Academy is 0-5 against Halifax since June of 2019 but things could change on Friday. The WolfPack will host the Wildcats at 4:30 p.m. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.

Caleb Foytack made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out ten batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. Those ten strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 4-for-5.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on CJ Grove, who scored four runs while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. He has become a key player for Saint Joseph's Catholic Academy: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 0-4 otherwise. Hayden Lingle was another key player, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with two RBI.
Meanwhile, Halifax had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7 runs) and they went ahead and made it six on Wednesday. Everything went their way against the Eagles as they made off with a 13-2 victory. The Wildcats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four games by seven runs or more this season.
Like Saint Joseph's Catholic Academy, Halifax also got a great game from a two-way player: Brandon Schell. He tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Schell was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-1. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last ten games he's played dating back to last season.
In other batting news, Cohen Bechtel and Brayden Midile did most of the damage at the plate: Bechtel got on base in all three of his plate appearances with three RBI and one triple, while Midile scored a run and stole three bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Midile is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least one every time he's taken the field this season. Another player making a difference was Eli Miller, who scored two runs while going 2-for-2.
Halifax's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-1. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.2 runs over those games. As for Saint Joseph's Catholic Academy, their win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-5 and their overall record up to 2-5.
Saint Joseph's Catholic Academy suffered a grim 16-0 defeat to Halifax in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Can the WolfPack avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
