Having struggled with three losses in a row, Holy Family turned things around against Monarch on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Coyotes 6-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Tigers have posted since March 8th.
Austin Mireiter looked comfortable as he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has become a key player for Holy Family: the team is undefeated when he allows at most one hit, but 2-4 otherwise.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Dustin Bennett, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 3-for-4. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Brady Anderson, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two RBI.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Fairview, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They came out on top against Monarch by a score of 11-6 on Wednesday. The high-scoring effort was just what the Knights needed considering they were shut out in their previous match.
Liam Goetz looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Jackson Wier was a standout: he scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-4. He also launched a home run, marking his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Isaac Waymire, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 4-for-4.
Fairview was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .469. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Fairview pushed their record up to 5-5 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.8 runs over those games. As for Holy Family, their win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 6-4.
