On Friday Nestucca take on Neah-Kah-Nie at 7:00 PM. Nestucca aren't expected to win, but seeing as the odds didn't stop them last game, maybe the team has another upset up their sleeve.
Last week, Nestucca had a bit more than a touchdown to spare in a 18-8 win over Vernonia. Junior Ben Hurliman, who rushed for 167 yards and 2 touchdowns, was a major factor in Nestucca's success. In fact, with 9 tackles Hurliman was a force on both sides of the ball.
Meanwhile, after having lost a blowout to Amity in their previous matchup, Neah-Kah-Nie were happy to find some success. Neah-Kah-Nie steamrollered Gaston 48-0.
Their wins lifted both teams to an identical 2-1. Neah-Kah-Nie's offensive line will need to gear up for a tough test against a Nestucca defensive front that amassed nine sacks against Vernonia, so we'll see if they are up to the task.
