Rappahannock is 9-1 against Northumberland since May of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Raiders will challenge the Indians at 5:00 p.m. Rappahannock will be looking to extend their current ten-game winning streak.
If Rappahannock beats Northumberland with ten runs on Tuesday, it's going to be the squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two games with that exact score. The Raiders walked away with a 10-5 win over Westmoreland on Thursday.

Avery Brann made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out eight batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with three runs.
In other batting news, Kahler Goodman and Cameron Nash did most of the damage at the plate: Goodman went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple, while Nash went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two doubles, and one run. That triple was Goodman's first of the season.
Meanwhile, Northumberland entered their tilt with Colonial Beach on Thursday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They put the hurt on the Drifters with a sharp 16-1 victory. The Indians might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight matchups by nine runs or more this season.
Like Rappahannock, Northumberland also got a great game from a two-way player: Braylin Beauchamp. She struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). Beauchamp was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run, four runs, and two stolen bases. Those four runs gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Northumberland let Abigail Bates and Emmalee King run wild. Bates got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two stolen bases and three RBI, while King got on base in all four of her plate appearances with four runs and one stolen base. Those three RBI gave Bates a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Emma Somers, who went 1-for-2 with three runs and two RBI.
Northumberland hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least four batters in three consecutive contests.
Rappahannock pushed their record up to 11-3 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.2 runs on average over those games. As for Northumberland, their record is now 11-3.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Rappahannock has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.5 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Northumberland struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 5.6 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Rappahannock skirted past Northumberland 3-2 in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Raiders since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
