Archer City is 8-1 against Petrolia since January of 2016, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. Archer City suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Tuesday. They took a serious blow against Seymour, falling 69-30.
Despite the loss, Archer City had strong showings from Serenity Jones, who scored 13 points along with two steals, and Adelyn Harvey, who scored three points. Jones is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played.
Petrolia was handed a 61-point loss in their previous outing, but they didn't let that bad energy affect their game against Olney on Tuesday. Petrolia had just enough and edged Olney out 33-30. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory Petrolia has posted yet this season.
Archer City has been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 12-12 record this season. As for Petrolia, their win bumped their record up to 10-14.
Archer City came up short against Petrolia in their previous matchup back in January of 2023, falling 56-47. Can Archer City avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
