Basketball Recap: Landhn Mathis' Big Game Can't Quite Lead North Point over King's Christian Academy

On Saturday, the North Point Eagles came up short against the King's Christian Academy Eagles and fell 74-66. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Friday (58), North Point still had to take the loss.

Several Eagles players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Landhn Mathis, who posted 15 points and three steals. Mathis has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Kendall Greene, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten boards.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead King's Christian Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Earl B. Edmonds, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and ten rebounds. With that strong performance, Edmonds is now averaging an impressive 2 steals per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Elijah Burgess, who went 8 of 18 on his way to 22 points.

This is the second loss in a row for North Point and nudges their season record down to 6-10. As for King's Christian Academy, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-16.

North Point didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 67-61 victory against Chopticon on the 3rd. As for King's Christian Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 79-73 defeat against Southern Maryland Christian Academy on the 4th.
