It's playoff time, and Port Charlotte had no trouble coming through when it counted. Everything went their way against the Cypress Lake Panthers on Tuesday as they made off with a 16-5 win. The victory was nothing new for the Pirates as they're now sitting on three straight.
Jaylin Pinedo made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over five innings while giving up four earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with three RBI and one double.
In other batting news, Port Charlotte got a massive performance out of Brianna Weidner, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles. That's the most doubles Weidner has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Jacqueline Kirk, who went 1-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.
