Even though the Lake Region Thunder have not done well against the Lake Gibson Braves recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. Lake Region came out on top against Lake Gibson by a score of 74-65. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Lake Region to victory, but perhaps none more so than Brenton Allen, who scored 23 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Dwayne Lattimore, who scored 16 points.
Lake Region is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a massive bump to their 11-9 record this season. As for Lake Gibson, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-12.
Lake Region will square off against Gainesville at 4:45 p.m. on Saturday. As for Lake Gibson, they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Kathleen at 7:30 p.m.
