Canton has been on the road for six straight, but on Saturday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Madison Bulldogs at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday.
Last Tuesday, Canton was the victim of a tough 70-45 loss at the hands of Centerville.
Meanwhile, Madison scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They walked away with a 66-53 win over Alcester-Hudson. The victory was just what Madison needed coming off of a 71-43 loss in their prior contest.
Madison had a senior duo take command as Karley Lurz almost dropped a double-double on 20 points and nine rebounds and Audrey Nelson scored 21 points along with six rebounds and two steals. It was the first time this season that Lurz pulled down eight or more rebounds. Another player making a difference was Ella Peterreins, who scored 12 points along with three steals.
Canton's loss dropped their record down to 8-8. As for Madison, their win bumped their record up to 3-13.
Everything came up roses for Canton against Madison in their previous matchup back in February of 2023 as the squad secured a 68-41 victory. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Madison's Zoey Gerry, who scored 17 points along with six rebounds and two steals.
