Basketball Recap: Silverado Falls Despite Big Games from Landon Hooiman and Denali Connolly

Silverado was the 70-66 winner over Centennial when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Silverado Skyhawks received a blow on Tuesday as they fell 74-56 to the Centennial Bulldogs.

Despite the defeat, Silverado had strong showings from Denali Connolly, who went 6 for 12 on his way to 13 points, and Landon Hooiman, who posted ten points and three steals. Those 13 points gave Connolly a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kayden Goss, who earned nine points and five steals.

Silverado's loss dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Centennial, their victory ended a three-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 4-0.

Silverado wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 75-60 defeat against Mojave on the 12th. Centennial and Weston Ranch will compete for holiday cheer at 1:00 p.m. on December 18th. Weston Ranch is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 58.2 points per game this season.
