The South Pike Eagles's four-game losing streak came to an end on Friday. They walked away with a 45-33 victory over Lawrence County. The win was just what South Pike needed coming off of a 75-46 defeat in their prior contest.
South Pike can attribute much of their success to Lavell Thompson, who scored 16 points along with 9 rebounds. Thompson continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was John Harrell, who scored 11 points along with 3 steals.
South Pike's win bumped their record up to 3-4. As for Lawrence County, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-7.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. South Pike will take on Hattiesburg at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Hattiesburg's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season. As for Lawrence County, they will be playing at home against Mendenhall at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Mendenhall is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road.
