Basketball Recap: Lycee Francais De Chicago Sets Scoring Season-High Against Morgan Park Academy

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Lycee Francais de Chicago). They walked away with a 74-62 victory over the Morgan Park Academy Warriors on Friday. The Flamy haven't had any issues with the Warriors recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Lycee Francais de Chicago was led to victory by Bonheur Balita and Jordie Machara. Balita dropped a double-double with 28 points and 12 boards, while Machara went 6-for-8 from beyond the arc en route to 28 points and six rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Machara has scored at least a third of the Flamy's points. Zion Gouett-Oliveira also deserves some recognition as he posted his first assist of the season.

Several Warriors players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Ade Denton-Vance, who posted 19 points and five rebounds. Denton-Vance has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. Ivan Fullilove was another key player, putting up 17 points and five boards.

The victory got Lycee Francais de Chicago back to even at 4-4. As for Morgan Park Academy, their record is now 5-3.

Coming up, Lycee Francais de Chicago will square off against MCC at 11:30 a.m. on Sunday. As for Morgan Park Academy, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Excel Academy of South Shore at 11:00 a.m. on the 29th.
