Basketball Recap: Niobrara/Verdigre Now 6-1 over Last Seven Games

If Neligh-Oakdale wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Niobrara/Verdigre, they should've done a better job of containing Eve Kucera. The Niobrara/Verdigre Cougars really took it to the Neligh-Oakdale Warriors for the full four quarters, racking up a 67-31 victory thanks in part to Kucera, who dropped a double-double on 27 points and 17 rebounds. That's the most rebounds she has posted since back in December of 2023.

The team also got some help courtesy of Delani Runnels, who posted 12 points along with five assists and five steals. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last seven games she's played.

Jaycee Gadeken and Rylee Tillema certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Gadeken put up 13 points and seven boards, while Tillema had six points.

Niobrara/Verdigre is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season. As for Neligh-Oakdale, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-8.

Niobrara/Verdigre didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 43-31 win against Wausa on the 9th. As for Neligh-Oakdale, they will challenge Plainview at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Neligh-Oakdale is facing Plainview at the right time seeing as Plainview is stuck on a nine-game losing streak.
