Andrean is 2-0 against LaVille since November of 2021, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Andrean Fighting 59ers will head out on the road to face off against the LaVille Lancers at 7:30 p.m. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Andrean has struggled recently with three losses in a row, while LaVille will arrive with three straight wins.
Andrean's 10-4 record from last season is now well into the rear view mirror after another tough outing. They fell just short of Lowell by a score of 16-14.
Despite the loss, Andrean had strong showings from Scott Ballentine, who threw for 140 yards and two touchdowns, and Logan Urbaniak, who picked up 32 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, you can't lose the matchup if you win every quarter, and that was precisely LaVille's strategy against Culver Community on Friday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that LaVille blew Culver Community out of the water with a 52-0 final score. Given LaVille's advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana football rankings (they are ranked 103rd, while Culver Community is ranked 304th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
LaVille's win bumped their season record to 8-1 while Andrean's loss dropped theirs to 3-6.
Everything went Andrean's way against LaVille in their previous meeting back in October of 2022 as Andrean made off with a 28-6 win. Will Andrean repeat their success, or does LaVille have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
