Golden Sierra fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back wins it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They walked away with a 42-32 victory over Esparto on Friday.
Aiden Pullin and Gavin Miller were among the main playmakers for Golden Sierra as the former rushed for 144 yards and four touchdowns on only 15 carries and the latter rushed for 208 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 13.0 yards per carry. Miller is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last three games he's played.
Meanwhile, Ripon Christian entered their tilt with Delhi with eight consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with nine. Ripon Christian didn't even let Delhi onto the board and left with a 35-0 victory on Friday. Considering Ripon Christian has won nine matches by more than 29 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Brady Grondz was his usual excellent self, rushing for 82 yards and two touchdowns on only eight carries.
Golden Sierra has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 4-5 record this season. As for Ripon Christian, their win was their ninth straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 9-1.
Golden Sierra took a serious blow against Ripon Christian when the teams last played back in November of 2015, falling 42-7. Can Golden Sierra avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
