The Prosper Eagles will face off against the Plano Wildcats at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Prosper is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.7 runs per game this season.
While Prosper's win against Rock Hill wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Eagles narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Blue Hawks 7-5. The win was nothing new for the Eagles as they're now sitting on three straight.
Peyton Moya made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one run. That stolen base was her first of the season.
In other batting news, Prosper let Bella Lopez and Khyla Glover run wild. Lopez went 3-for-4 with two runs and one triple, while Glover went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. Those two stolen bases gave Glover a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Analia Dishong, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI and one run.
Plano had taken Plano West down for two straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Tuesday. The Wildcats fell 7-4 to the Wolves.
Addison Pecenka was cooking despite her team's loss, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run.
Plano has also been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-7-1 record this season. As for Prosper, the victory got them back to even at 7-7.
Friday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Prosper hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .328. However, it's not like Plano struggles in that department as they've averaged .332. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Prosper came out on top in a nail-biter against Plano when the teams last played back in April of 2025, sneaking past 5-4. Do the Eagles have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Wildcats turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
