Mundelein is 8-2 against Stevenson since April of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Mustangs will be playing in front of their home fans against the Patriots at 4:45 p.m. Mundelein is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.6 runs per game this season.
Mundelein is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Zion-Benton just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Wednesday. They fell just short of the Zee-Bees by a score of 7-6.

Emily Courtney made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with four stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last nine games she's played. Kieley Tomas was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Stevenson entered their tilt with Taft on Saturday with nine consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with ten. They came out on top against the Eagles by a score of 7-4. Seven seems to be a good number for the Patriots as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of runs in their previous game.
Stevenson also got a great performance from Samantha Gotschewski as she struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off six hits.
On the hitting side, Aubrey Jepson was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Sara Saiki, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Stevenson pushed their record up to 17-3 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.6 runs over those games. As for Mundelein, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-5.
Monday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Mundelein hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .366. However, it's not like Stevenson struggles in that department as they've averaged .393. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Mundelein beat Stevenson 4-1 in their previous meeting back in April. Will the Mustangs repeat their success, or do the Patriots have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
