Deerfield extended the longest winning streak in Trailways - Large this week by beating SWCHA Saints, 41-13. The victory was the fifth in a row for the Demons.
Lourdes moved up to 215 from 269 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Knights were able to make the jump by beating Montello/Princeton/Green Lake 49-17.
Markesan's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Andrew Gibbons threw for 56 and one touchdown and Vince Stensrud had 24 yards receiving. On the ground Kyle Jahnke chipped in 135 yards. Logan Grahn helped Markesan's passing attack out by catching one ball for 24 yards.
Thanks to the talents of Gibbons and Jahnke the Hornets have been able to do all sorts of things on offense. Gibbons leads the league in passing with 554 yards, while Jahnke has rushed for 463 yards this season. Dodgeland's Kyle Kohls leads the league in receiving yards with 181 on 12 catches.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when the Trojans take on Deerfield. Dodgeland is in sixth place, while Jim Brown's team is in first place.
Pardeeville took down Horicon 43-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
