Meanwhile, Notre Dame Prep faced Chaparral in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Monday. The Saints came up short against the Firebirds, falling 3-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Saints have suffered against the Firebirds since October 23, 2017.
Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 25-15, 25-20.
Notre Dame Prep's defeat was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 14-9. As for Desert Mountain, their loss dropped their record down to 10-16.

However, it's not like Notre Dame Prep struggles in that department as they've been averaging 5.2 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
