The Cherry Hill East Cougars will challenge the Camden County Vo-Tech Warriors at 3:45 p.m. on Friday. Cherry Hill East's hitters haven't had much luck over their past three games, but Friday's matchup will give them a chance to turn things around.
While Cherry Hill East's victory against Triton wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Cougars' pitcher stepped up to hand the Mustangs a 1-0 shutout on Thursday. The win was some much needed relief for the Cougars as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

The result came thanks to Michael Fekete's shutout, as he gave up just five hits and racked up nine Ks. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Cherry Hill East is 2-0-1 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 4-7-1 otherwise.
At the plate, Cherry Hill East's victory was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Austin Hanni, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one RBI.
Meanwhile, Camden County Vo-Tech got the win against Deptford on Wednesday by a conclusive 9-1. The result was nothing new for the Warriors, who have now won seven contests by seven runs or more so far this season.
Johnnie Laurick spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on four hits and racked up seven Ks.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Jacob Shaw, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Brayden Falcone was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base.
Camden County Vo-Tech pushed their record up to 7-3 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.9 runs over those games. As for Cherry Hill East, their win bumped their record up to 6-7-2.
Cherry Hill East came out on top in a nail-biter against Camden County Vo-Tech in their previous meeting back in April of 2023, sneaking past 1-0. Do the Cougars have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Warriors turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
